Around 3:00 PM, two station wagons collided head-on while traveling on the D’Aguilar Highway. A Ford Everest, carrying three people, was traveling eastbound when it collided with a westbound Mitsubishi Pajero.

Fatalities and Injuries

The impact of the crash tragically killed two passengers in the Ford Everest: a 58-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman. The driver of the Ford, a 57-year-old woman, sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital. The 26-year-old male driver of the Mitsubishi Pajero suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

The driver of the Mitsubishi Pajero is assisting police with their inquiries. Queensland Police are appealing for any witnesses to the crash or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
