Incident Overview

On September 24, 2024, twelve Singaporean soldiers were injured when two Hunter Armoured Vehicles collided during Exercise Wallaby in Central Queensland. The incident occurred at 7:40 pm as the vehicles returned to Shoalwater Bay training area.

Details of the Exercise Wallaby Incident

The rear-end collision happened while Singaporean and Australian forces were conducting joint training operations. The injured soldiers were transported to Rockhampton hospital for treatment. The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) emphasized the safety and well-being of their personnel, implementing a safety pause to reinforce distance protocols.

Impact on the Military Exercise

Exercise Wallaby, involving 6200 personnel and 490 vehicles, will continue until November 3. The Australian Defence Force confirmed that no ADF personnel were injured.

Investigation and Response
