Incident Overview
Two truck drivers have been praised as heroes after pulling a man from a burning car wreck on the Salisbury Highway in Adelaide’s north late on Wednesday night, October 1, 2025. At around 10:50 pm, a silver Toyota Camry veered off the highway, travelled more than 100 metres through scrub, down an embankment, and into a creek before bursting into flames.

The 25-year-old driver from Manningham was unconscious and trapped in the car when the fire broke out. Truck drivers John and Riley risked their lives by scrambling through swampy terrain to drag him free and perform CPR, reviving him before emergency services arrived. The driver was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
