Incident Overview
A truck driver has died following a four-truck crash on the M1 Pacific Motorway in Morisset, located in the Hunter Region of New South Wales. The incident occurred in the southbound lanes near Mandalong Road at approximately 2:45pm on Tuesday, 22 July 2025.

Vehicles Involved

  • Four trucks including a petrol tanker
  • The two front trucks reportedly collided in a rear-end crash

Casualties and Injuries

  • Fatality: One male truck driver (identity not yet released) died at the scene before emergency crews arrived
  • Injured: Three other drivers were treated at the scene for minor injuries by NSW Ambulance paramedics
  • Uninjured: A 57-year-old male truck driver involved was not physically harmed

  • Rescue helicopter landed at the scene to assist response operations
  • Crime scene established; expected to remain active for several hours
  • NSW Police, Ambulance, and emergency crews responded

  • All southbound lanes on the M1 at Morisset were closed

Investigation
A full investigation into the cause of the crash is underway by NSW Police. Preliminary reports indicate a rear-end collision between two trucks, with the remaining two becoming entangled across the lanes.
