Early Thursday morning, a catastrophic incident occurred on the Warrego Highway near Drillham, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and serious injuries to others, leading to a complete closure of the highway.

Details of the Incident
At approximately 6:00 AM, two Holden Colorados, each towing trailers, collided on the highway. The impact of the crash was devastating, instantly killing a 41-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man at the scene. The vehicles involved were a black 2010 Holden Colorado and a white 2013 Holden Colorado.

Emergency Response
Paramedics arriving at the scene were met with a harrowing sight, as the accident had occurred over a large area, complicating the rescue efforts. Belinda Deebank, a spokeswoman for the Queensland Ambulance Service, described the scene as “quite traumatic” for the crews.

Two men, aged 33 and 49, were critically injured and had to be airlifted to Brisbane for urgent medical treatment. Additionally, a 23-year-old man was transported to Miles Hospital with minor injuries.
