Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorbike rider was seriously injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash at Silkstone yesterday, Tuesday, February 6.

Initial investigations indicate just before midday, a black Yamaha cruiser-style motorbike was heading east along Blackstone Road. A silver Hyundai Elantra turned from Alice Street and collided with the motorbike.

The rider, a 55-year-old Silkstone man, was seriously injured and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the car, a 42-year-old North Booval man, was not physically injured.

Witnesses, particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam vision of the motorbike or Hyundai Elantra prior to the incident, are urged to contact police.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
