Incident Overview
On Friday, September 6, 2024, a two-year-old boy was tragically killed after falling from an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on a rural property in Cootamundra, NSW.
Details of the Incident
The incident occurred just after 3:00 PM on a property located on Dudauman Road in Cootamundra. The two-year-old boy was riding on the ATV with a 34-year-old man and a three-year-old boy when he fell from the vehicle. The circumstances surrounding the fall are currently under investigation.
Tragic Outcome
The toddler sustained critical injuries in the fall and was rushed to Cootamundra Hospital, but sadly, he was pronounced dead on arrival. The three-year-old boy who was also on the ATV was not injured.
Investigation and Charges
Specialist police investigated the incident and have since charged the 34-year-old male driver of the ATV with dangerous driving occasioning death. He is scheduled to appear before Cootamundra Local Court on December 16, 2024. A report will also be prepared for the coroner.
