Australian tennis coach Tim Horpinitch remained in a critical condition after his scooter collided with a car in the Seychelles.

Injuries and Hospital Treatment
Horpinitch, 53, suffered broken ribs and punctured lungs. One week after the crash, he remained in intensive care with life-threatening injuries and was being supported by a ventilator.
His family said doctors were monitoring his recovery from an induced coma and were waiting for his chest injuries to begin healing before further treatment could start. Relatives also told 7NEWS that he briefly regained consciousness during his hospital stay.

Horpinitch was taken to the intensive care unit at Seychelles Hospital following the collision.
Family and Community Support
Horpinitch is a father of three who moved from Melbourne to the Seychelles about 25 years ago. His children and friends were supporting him locally while relatives in Australia waited for further news.
His sister, Christine Kalantzakos, established an online fundraiser to help meet the cost of hospital treatment, surgery and rehabilitation. ZilAce Tennis Club, where Horpinitch is the head coach, also said it was mobilising support for him and his family.
