The crash happened on Point Peron Road around 9:40 pm on Sunday. The ute, carrying three teenagers and an adult, was traveling eastbound when it collided with a westbound station wagon carrying six teenagers. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage in the impact.

Three teenagers – a 16-year-old, a 17-year-old, and an 18-year-old – were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The other occupants of the vehicles were reportedly unharmed.
