Introduction
A man has tragically died in a hit-and-run crash in Melbourne after his motorcycle collided with a stolen BMW. A teenager has been arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred early Sunday morning.

Crash Overview
The fatal collision happened at the intersection of Bell Street and Victoria Street in Preston, Melbourne, around 12:40 AM on Sunday, August 11th, 2024. A motorcycle collided with a stolen BMW, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist.

Fatality and Arrest
The motorcyclist was tragically pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of police officers who performed CPR. Two occupants of the BMW fled the scene on foot. A 16-year-old boy, believed to be a passenger in the BMW, was arrested shortly after and interviewed by police. He has been released pending further investigation.

Stolen Vehicle and Investigation
The BMW involved in the crash was allegedly stolen, along with a Mazda, from an address on Coonans Street in Pascoe Vale around 11:40 PM on Saturday, August 10th. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident and are urging anyone with information or relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
