Incident Overview

Two drivers were injured in a two-vehicle collision at Susan River on Friday, 3 July 2026. Police later charged a 43-year-old Maryborough man with a drug offence.

Location and Time

Emergency services were called to Maryborough Hervey Bay Road at about 9.11pm.

Vehicles Involved

Police reported that the collision involved a white SUV and a black utility.

Injuries

The 43-year-old man sustained minor injuries and was taken to Maryborough Hospital under police guard. The other driver, a 23-year-old Eli Waters man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also transported to Maryborough Hospital.

Charge

Police allege that the 43-year-old man was found in possession of methylamphetamine. He was charged with one count of possessing dangerous drugs.

Legal Status

The charge is an allegation. The accused is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
