Incident Overview
A serious crash occurred at the intersection of Chandler Street and Douglas Street in Garbutt, Townsville, at approximately 6:10 pm on Monday, July 14, 2025. A stolen silver Toyota Hilux collided with a white Mitsubishi Outlander carrying a family of five. The Outlander flipped onto its side, and the Hilux crashed into a nearby fence. Investigation
Queensland Police have confirmed:
- The Hilux was reported stolen from Bohle Plains on July 10
- A 21-year-old woman from Bushland Beach was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle
- She was refused bail and was expected to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on July 15
- Efforts to identify and locate the remaining offenders are ongoing
