The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious single vehicle traffic crash in Wongawallan last night, February 20.

Initial investigations indicate at 10pm, a driver of a truck was travelling down Tamborine Oxenford Road when his brakes failed to slow down, the driver hit an embankment.

Emergency services attended the scene to assist in extracting the male from the vehicle.

The driver and sole occupant of the truck, a 28-year-old man, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
