Police from the Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for public assistance as they investigate a traffic crash that occurred on Waterford Tamborine Road, around 6.30pm yesterday August 26.

Investigations indicate that a blue Hyundai Getz hatchback was travelling eastbound when it collided with a Mitsubishi Triton towing a horse float (unladen).

As a result of the impact, the Hyundai subsequently crashed into a Silver Ford Falcon that was driving behind the horse float.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 21-year-old Loganlea man ran from the scene but was located by police at an address in Buccan several hours later.

Police are appealing for any person who may have CCTV or dashcam footage, or who may have seen the blue Hyundai Getz driving in the area at the time, to come forward.
