A pedestrian remains in a critical condition after a crash on the Gold Coast this afternoon.

Preliminary inquiries indicate at 4.15pm a woman was walking across Grice Avenue at Paradise Point when she was hit by a car.

The local woman, aged in her 80’s, was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the car was not physically injured in the crash.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations continue.
