Incident Overview

Police are seeking information about a serious two-vehicle collision on Louis Bazzo Drive at Boreen Point on the Sunshine Coast in the early hours of Sunday, 17 August 2026.

Location and Time

  • Date and time: Around 1am on Sunday, 17 August 2026.
  • Location: Louis Bazzo Drive, Boreen Point, Queensland.

Vehicles and Drivers

  • A 2007 grey Toyota Yaris driven by a 44-year-old man from Cootharaba.
  • A 2014 silver Nissan Micra driven by a 32-year-old man from Cooroy Mountain.

People Taken to Hospital

Both drivers were taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital. A 31-year-old male passenger in the Nissan, also from Cooroy Mountain, was transported to the same hospital.

Police Investigation and Appeal

Queensland Police are continuing to investigate the crash. Anyone who witnessed it or has dashcam or other vision that may assist is asked to contact police and quote reference QP2601596751.
