The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for public assistance following a serious motorbike crash in Inala on Wednesday, May 17.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 4.30pm, an allegedly stolen motorbike was travelling along Wedgetail Street, near Fantail Street, when it crashed.

The rider, a 40-year-old North Ipswich man, was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Anyone who saw the bike, a dark blue 2012 Suzuki GS500, prior to the incident is urged to immediately contact police.

Witnesses, particularly anyone with relevant dashcam footage or CCTV, are asked to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
