Incident Overview
A serious multi-vehicle traffic crash occurred on Friday night, 25 July 2025, on the Pacific Highway in Bilinga, Queensland. The collision involved three vehicles and resulted in one woman being seriously injured.

Injuries

  • Serious Injuries: 25-year-old Currumbin Waters woman (Hyundai passenger) – taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition
  • Minor Injuries: 18-year-old NSW man (Mitsubishi driver) – taken to Gold Coast University Hospital
  • No Physical Injuries:
    • 25-year-old Currumbin Waters man (Hyundai driver)
    • 20-year-old Merrimac woman (Holden Commodore driver)

Crash Description
Initial investigations suggest the black Mitsubishi Lancer rear-ended the black Hyundai i20 while both were travelling southbound. Both the Mitsubishi and the Hyundai lost control and struck the side rail before coming to a stop, blocking both southbound lanes. The silver Holden Commodore was not damaged in the collision.

Road and Traffic Impacts

  • Southbound lanes of the Pacific Highway were blocked as a result of the crash.

Investigation
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Witnesses/Appeals
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage from the area at the time to come forward.
