A woman remains in a critical condition in hospital after a serious crash in Oxenford this afternoon.

Preliminary inquiries indicate at 5.30pm a motorcycle was headed north on the Pacific Motorway when it collided with a car heading in the same direction.

The rider of the motorcycle, an 18-year-old Pacific Pines woman, remains in the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.
