Police are investigating following a serious injury traffic crash in Helensvale last night (February 11).

Initial information indicates at about 10pm, a 35-year-old Southport man was crossing Discovery Drive when he was struck by a car driven by a 22-year-old Helensvale man.

The 35-year-old was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with critical injuries.

The driver was not physically injured.

Investigators would like to speak to any witnesses and anyone with footage of the incident.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
