Introduction
A 25-year-old man visiting from overseas has been seriously injured in a collision between a car and a school bus in South Australia’s Barossa Valley. The accident occurred at an intersection in Penrice on Tuesday afternoon.
Crash Overview
The crash took place on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, just before 3:45 PM at the intersection of Stockwell Road and Penrice Road in Penrice. A Volkswagen hatchback, driven by the 25-year-old man, collided with a LinkSA school bus carrying 15 students.
Injuries and Medical Response
The driver of the Volkswagen was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries. Fortunately, the 64-year-old bus driver and all 15 students on board were unharmed.
Witness Account
A local resident, Gennaro Verde, heard the loud bang of the collision and rushed to the scene to offer assistance. He expressed concern for the children who may have been traumatized by the experience.
