A young motorcyclist suffered significant road rash injuries after crashing his bike on the Pacific Motorway in Rochedale, Brisbane. The motorcycle later caught fire and exploded.
Rochedale Crash Overview
The incident, believed to be a single-vehicle crash, occurred around 8:30 pm on Thursday on the Pacific Motorway in Rochedale. The rider, a man in his 20s, came off his motorcycle and suffered injuries.
Injuries and Emergency Response
Paramedics attended to the rider at the scene, treating him for extensive “gravel rash” abrasions across his body. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported. He was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in stable condition.
Aftermath and Investigation
Footage supplied to 7NEWS shows the motorcycle catching fire and exploding a short distance from the initial crash site. Police closed all but one southbound lane of the Pacific Motorway to manage the incident and investigate.
