Introduction
A man has tragically lost his life and another is seriously injured after a devastating crash involving a car and a truck in the Hunter region of New South Wales. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon and is under investigation by the Crash Investigation Unit.
Crash Overview
The fatal collision occurred on Monday, August 5th, 2024, at approximately 3:50 PM on Cessnock Road in Cliftleigh. The crash involved a car and a truck, resulting in the death of the car driver and serious injuries to the truck driver.
Fatality and Injuries
The driver of the car, a 31-year-old man, was treated at the scene by paramedics but unfortunately could not be saved. The truck driver, believed to be in his 40s, was transported to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Investigation
The Crash Investigation Unit is conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
