A 76-year-old man has died and three others are critically injured following a serious two-vehicle collision on the Victoria Highway near Delamere in the Northern Territory. The crash occurred around 6:30 am on Wednesday, July 17, 2025. The deceased was driving a vehicle that collided with a second car driven by a 25-year-old man. The three other occupants of the first vehicle were rushed to Katherine Hospital in critical condition, while the second driver was hospitalised in a stable condition.

    • A 76-year-old man, driver of the first vehicle, was declared dead at the scene.
  • Serious Injuries:
    • A 70-year-old woman, 63-year-old woman, and 63-year-old man — all passengers in the first vehicle — were transported to Katherine Hospital in critical condition.
  • Other Injuries:
    • The 25-year-old male driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Emergency Response
St John Ambulance, NT Police, and NT Fire and Rescue responded to the crash. The highway was closed between Delamere and the Vince Connolly Crossing for several hours. Crash investigators attended and conducted a forensic assessment of the scene.

Investigation
Northern Territory Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Key focus areas include:
