Incident Overview
A man has been killed and two others injured in a fatal crash in Forrestfield, Perth, following an alleged police pursuit. The crash occurred when a white Nissan Navara, allegedly attempting to evade police, collided with a blue Ford Falcon at the intersection of Hale Road and Tonkin Highway just after 10:00 pm on Wednesday night. The driver of the Falcon died at the scene, while a female passenger was transported to hospital. The accused Navara driver has since been charged with multiple offences including manslaughter.

- A female passenger in the Falcon was injured and transported by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital.

Emergency Response
WA Police and emergency services responded quickly to the scene. Officers provided immediate first aid before arresting the Navara driver. The crash resulted in the Navara spinning on impact, striking a traffic light and coming to rest against a police vehicle that was not involved in the earlier pursuit.
Investigation
WA Police’s Major Crime Division is leading the investigation into the crash. Authorities allege the 26-year-old Navara driver had been involved in an evade incident moments before the crash. The pursuit, which began in nearby Wattle Grove, was terminated by police within one minute due to safety concerns. The accused allegedly crossed onto the wrong side of the road before the fatal impact occurred approximately three minutes later. Investigators are examining:
- The events of the short evade incident and its termination
- Traffic light compliance and intersection behaviour of the Navara driver
- The exact sequence of events leading to the collision and resulting fatalities and injuries
A report will be prepared for the Coroner. Police have stated that the officers followed all appropriate policy and procedures and that their actions did not contribute to the crash.

The incident has sparked renewed attention on police pursuits and public safety in high-traffic urban areas. WA Police expressed condolences to the victim’s family and reinforced their stance on terminating pursuits deemed too dangerous to continue.
