Incident Overview
A 41-year-old man from Tewantin has been charged with 15 offenses following a series of violent incidents, including a fatal multi-vehicle crash, armed robbery, and shooting, in Palmview and Landsborough , Queensland, on Monday, April 21, 2025 .
The sequence of events began at approximately 12:10 pm when the man allegedly lost control of a red Porsche Macan , causing a six-vehicle crash on the southbound lanes of the Bruce Highway at Palmview . A 22-year-old woman from Upper Mount Gravatt , who was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved, later died from her injuries. The driver of the same vehicle, a 22-year-old man from Strathpine , sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized.
The suspect allegedly exited the Porsche armed with a firearm, approached a white SsangYong Rexton , and shot its driver—a 62-year-old man from Branyan —in the arm before stealing the vehicle. The stolen Rexton was later found crashed on Steve Irwin Way in Landsborough around 12:35 pm .
The suspect then allegedly approached a grey Mazda 3 , forcing its occupants—a 16-year-old girl from Newmarket and her parents—to flee the vehicle. He was arrested shortly afterward at the intersection of Steve Irwin Way and Forestry Road , Landsborough , at 12:48 pm without further incident. The firearm was recovered inside the Mazda.
The offender sustained head and body injuries during the incidents and remains under police guard at Sunshine Coast University Hospital .

Vehicles Involved
- A **red Porsche Macan** involved in the initial six-vehicle crash (suspect’s vehicle).
- A **Nissan Micra** carrying a 22-year-old man (driver) and a 22-year-old woman (deceased passenger).
- A **white SsangYong Rexton** stolen by the suspect after shooting its driver.
- A **grey Mazda 3** abandoned by its occupants after the suspect approached them while armed.
Injuries/Fatalities
- Fatality: A 22-year-old woman from Upper Mount Gravatt died from injuries sustained in the crash.
- Serious Injuries:
- The 62-year-old driver of the SsangYong Rexton was shot in the arm and treated for his injuries.
- The 41-year-old offender sustained head and body injuries and is under police guard at the hospital.

- No physical injuries were reported for the occupants of the grey Mazda 3.
Charges
The 41-year-old man has been charged with the following offenses:

- Driver fail to remain at incident.
- Driving suspended license.
He is expected to appear before Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 . Further charges are likely as investigations continue.
Police Investigation
The Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit and Scenes of Crime officers have declared and processed three crime scenes:
- At the site of the initial crash on the Bruce Highway in Palmview.
- Where the stolen SsangYong Rexton was found crashed on Steve Irwin Way, Landsborough.
- The arrest location at the intersection of Steve Irwin Way and Forestry Road, Landsborough.
