Incident Overview
A 47-year-old man from Norville has been charged following a fatal two-vehicle crash in Kalkie , Bundaberg, on Friday, November 1, 2024 , at approximately 8:20 pm . The collision occurred on Fe Walker Street when a 2021 Mazda CX-8 and a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder were involved in a head-on crash.
Tragically, a 57-year-old woman from Bargara , an occupant of the Mazda, sustained critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other three occupants of the Mazda were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Nissan, the Norville man, also sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized.
The Norville man has been charged with:
- Dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.
- Dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.
- Learner driver failing to be properly supervised.
He is scheduled to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on May 16, 2025 .
