Incident Overview
A 17-year-old Rothwell boy died following an electric dirt bike collision at Laceys Creek, near Dayboro, on Sunday, 12 July 2026.
Location and Time
The collision occurred on Laceys Creek Road at about 12.15pm.
Vehicles Involved
An electric dirt bike collided with a white utility travelling in the opposite direction.
Death
The rider suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where he later died. The 55-year-old Laceys Creek man driving the utility was not injured.
Police Enquiries
Police said enquiries into the circumstances were continuing and asked witnesses or people with relevant footage to contact them, quoting QP2601348900.
