Incident Overview
Police have charged a 24-year-old Beenleigh man following a fatal crash that resulted in the death of his three-year-old son in bushland north of the Gold Coast early on Saturday morning, October 25, 2025.

At around 5:00 am, witnesses reported seeing a white Mazda veer off the road and crash. The child later died from severe head injuries after being taken to Beenleigh Police Station by a passing motorist who had stopped to assist the occupants.

It is alleged the father fled the crash scene with his one-year-old son, while the 22-year-old mother and the injured child were driven to the police station by a witness. Officers and paramedics attempted CPR, but the three-year-old could not be revived.

The 24-year-old man was later found at a Beenleigh address that morning and taken into custody. He has been charged with breaching a domestic violence order, with police confirming further charges are expected.

  • Multiple crime scenes were established — at the crash site, Beenleigh Police Station, and a nearby property where the man and baby were located.
  • The 24-year-old father was arrested later that evening and remains in custody.

Police Investigation
The Homicide Investigation Unit, Forensic Crash Unit, and Logan District detectives are investigating:

  • The sequence of events leading to the crash and subsequent actions by the father.
  • Whether the father’s breach of a domestic violence protection order contributed to the circumstances of the crash.
  • The cause of the child’s fatal head injuries and forensic examination of the vehicle involved.
  • Witness statements and dashcam footage of the white Mazda in the Beenleigh area between 4:30 am and 5:15 am.

Detective Acting Superintendent Mark Mooney confirmed that the couple were previously in a relationship and shared two children, both of whom were involved in the incident.

Police anticipate laying additional charges when the man appears in court on Monday, 27 October 2025.
