Introduction
A devastating collision between a truck and a car on the Pacific Highway in northern NSW has led to tragic consequences, including a fatality and injuries.

Accident Overview
The incident occurred near New Italy, approximately 46km south of Lismore, around 4:45 PM on Monday. A Pantech truck reportedly collided with a passenger car, causing the truck to roll over and resulting in the death of the 39-year-old male truck driver at the scene.

Emergency Response and Casualties
Emergency services quickly responded to the crash site. Despite their efforts, the truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The 40-year-old female driver of the car was treated for minor injuries and shock before being transported to Lismore Base Hospital.

Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to determine the specific circumstances leading to this fatal crash. The road was partially closed to facilitate emergency operations and preliminary investigations.

Following the accident, one northbound lane of the Pacific Highway was closed, causing delays in the area. Motorists were advised to expect significant traffic and seek alternate routes if possible.
