A man in his twenties has died following a fatal single vehicle traffic crash in Ipswich overnight (February 17).

Initial investigations indicate around 10.30pm the vehicle was traveling on the Cunningham Highway near the westbound Yamanto exit when it crashed into a bridge pylon and caught fire.

The man was declared deceased at the scene.

Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage is asked to contact police.
