A man has died in hospital, after he was involved in a single vehicle traffic crash in Ironpot (North Rockhampton) on Thursday, January 16.

Police and emergency services were called to Yeppoon Road about 10.45am following reports a white Volkswagen Transporter van had veered off the road and gone into a ditch.

The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 79-year-old Pomona man was transported to hospital where he passed on Friday, January 17.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
