The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash at Mount Ossa this afternoon, January 20.
Initial investigations indicate around 2:10pm, emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway in Mount Ossa, north of Mackay, following reports of a Harley Davidson motorcycle had crashed.
The rider, a 67-year-old Roma man, sustained significant life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mackay Base Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
