The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a man died in a crash at Hughenden, west of Townsville, this morning, September 4.

Initial investigations indicate just before 9.30am, a white 2022 Nissan Navara utility was travelling east along the Flinders Highway when it left the road and crashed.

The male driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information or relevant vision, to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
