Incident Overview
A 91-year-old Howard man died after a silver Mitsubishi ASX left the Bruce Highway and crashed into a dry creek bed near Gates Creek Bridge at Gumlu on Tuesday, 14 July 2026. Queensland Police said the passenger was later transferred to Townsville University Hospital, where he died on Sunday, 2 August, from injuries sustained in the crash.
