A man has died following a fatal pedestrian incident that occurred in Fortitude Valley this afternoon, March 27.

Initial investigations indicate after 2pm, a pedestrian was crossing near Water Street and Brunswick Street intersection when he was struck by a car.

The man sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was not physically injured and is assisting police with enquiries.

Police are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV from the area to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
