Incident Overview
A 42-year-old Pacific Paradise man has died following a serious two-vehicle crash that occurred on the Sunshine Motorway at Marcoola on 5 August 2025. He succumbed to his injuries on 16 August.

- White Mazda 121 – sole occupant: 42-year-old male (Pacific Paradise)
- Black SsangYong Musso – sole occupant: 22-year-old male (Victoria)
Injuries/Fatalities
- Deceased: 42-year-old Pacific Paradise man (driver of the Mazda 121), initially transported to hospital in critical condition, later died from his injuries on 16 August
- Uninjured: 22-year-old Victoria man (driver of the SsangYong Musso)
Crash Description
Initial investigations indicate the two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions along the Sunshine Motorway when they collided. Emergency services transported the Mazda driver to hospital, where he remained in critical condition before succumbing to his injuries 11 days later. The Musso driver was not physically injured.
Investigation
The Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area to come forward.
