Police are investigating a fatal, single vehicle traffic crash in Somerset earlier today, September 2.

At 9.45am, emergency services were called to Emu Creek Road at Colinton following reports a motorcycle had left the roadway and the rider had struck a tree.

The 53-year-old male rider from Dinmore was declared deceased at the scene.

The man was travelling with other riders at the time but no one else was injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit will investigate the cause of the crash.
