A 71-year-old Mount Cotton man has died following a collision on Nerang Murwillumbah Road, Advancetown.

Initial investigations indicate the man, who was riding a motorbike, was travelling towards Nerang when he collided with a truck moving in the opposite direction.

The motorbike rider died at the scene.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is asking for anyone with dashcam footage, or more information about the incident, to contact police.
