Incident Overview
A 76-year-old South Townsville man has died and two others have been seriously injured following a multi-vehicle crash at Bushland Beach on Sunday evening, 23 November. Initial investigations indicate a white Mazda utility collided with a silver BMW motorcycle and an orange CFMOTO motorcycle shortly after 6:08pm near the roundabout on Mount Low Parkway at Lionel Turner Drive. The BMW rider died at the scene. His passenger and the CFMOTO rider were taken to Townsville University Hospital. The utility driver was uninjured and is assisting police. The Forensic Crash Unit is conducting further investigations.

    • 28-year-old utility driver — uninjured; assisting police.

Emergency Response

  • Queensland Police and paramedics attended the crash shortly after 6pm.
  • The BMW rider received treatment but was declared deceased on scene.
  • The BMW passenger and CFMOTO rider were stabilised and transported to hospital.
  • A police scene was established for forensic mapping and evidence collection.

The Forensic Crash Unit is working to determine the sequence of events leading to the collision.
