The forensic crash unit is investigating a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred on the Bruce Highway, approximately 1km south of Rockhampton, last night, Monday, March 25.
Initial reports indicate that around 10:30pm, a male motorcycle rider was travelling south on the highway when he has fallen, causing critical injuries.
All southbound lanes of the highway were closed for a number of hours while emergency services cleared the scene.
Attempts to save the rider were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.
The forensic crash unit are continuing to investigate the incident.
