The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal two-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Wellington Point last night, October 3.

Initial investigations indicate a Yamaha R7 motorbike and Mercedes GLE 400 crashed on Birkdale Road about 7.30pm.

The motorbike burst into flames on impact and as a result both vehicles were destroyed by fire.

A 21-year-old Corinda man sustained critical injuries and was subsequently declared deceased at the scene.

The 52-year-old female driver was not injured but two passengers, a 20-year-old woman and a three-year-old girl, were taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam vision, is urged to come forward.
