A 57-year-old East Brisbane man has passed away following a fatal electric bicycle crash that occurred in Kangaroo Point on Sunday, June 9.

Initial information indicates about 3.10am, the man was riding the bike on a shared footpath when it lost control and crashed near the Story Bridge.

Emergency services attended the scene and transported him to hospital in a critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries on June 12.

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.
