A 27-year-old man has died following a two vehicle crash involving a motorbike in Burpengary tonight (January 14).

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 8.20pm, a motorbike and car have collided at the intersection of Old Gympie Road and the Deception Bay off ramp (exit 142), near New Settlement Road.

The rider, a 27-year-old Burpengary man, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a 21-year-old Burpengary man, was not physically injured and is assisting police with inquiries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage in the area at that time is urged to contact police.
