Police are appealing for public assistance to locate the driver of a white prime mover who may be able to assist with their investigations into a fatal traffic crash between a truck and motorbike today, August 11.

CCTV has been released of the truck officers are looking for, which has a flatbed tray with either piping or timber on the back.

Initial investigations indicate the motorbike and truck crashed on Viola Place around 5.25am.

Emergency crews arrived shortly afterwards, but the 48-year-old motorbike rider sadly died at the scene.

The truck failed to stop and police are trying to track down the driver.

The crash happened around 5km away from the airport terminal in an industrial precinct and is not impacting passenger travel in any way.

Anyone who recognises the truck, or who has information that could assist police with their inquiries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
