Incident Overview

On Thursday morning, October 3, 2024, a 76-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Jamestown, a town located approximately 200 kilometers north of Adelaide.

Details of the Crash

The crash occurred around 10:45 AM on the Wilkins Highway, about 300 meters south of Jamestown-Whyte Yarcowie Road. The motorcyclist was traveling along the highway when, for reasons yet to be determined, he left the roadway and crashed. Sadly, he died at the scene.

Road Closure and Investigation

Following the crash, the Wilkins Highway was closed between Belalie East Road and Jamestown-Whyte Yarcowie Road while emergency services attended the scene and Major Crash investigators examined the site. Traffic diversions were put in place to manage the flow of traffic in the area.
