A severe crash in Truganina, Melbourne, has led to the death of a driver after a horrifying incident where their car was struck, flipped, and engulfed in flames in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The tragic event unfolded just before 1 am on Hopkins Rd when a Holden SUV collided with the victim’s vehicle, causing it to overturn and catch fire. The driver of the impacted car, who has not yet been identified, succumbed to critical injuries and was later declared deceased in the hospital.

Following the collision, the driver of the Holden SUV reportedly fled the scene. Police were able to locate a 23-year-old man from Hillside shortly after, who is now assisting with the investigation.
