A 33-year-old man wanted on domestic violence-related warrants has been critically injured following a dramatic multi-vehicle crash at the end of a police pursuit across Western Sydney on the morning of Friday, 25 July 2025.

Crash Description
The incident began at 5:00am on the Great Western Highway at Bowenfels when police attempted to stop a red hatchback driven by a man wanted on two outstanding warrants for domestic violence-related offences. The man, who was allegedly driving on a disqualified learner’s licence, fled the scene.
Following a series of aborted police pursuits due to dangerous driving, the vehicle was finally located by air support and intercepted with road spikes at Castlereagh and Cranebrook Roads in Penrith. The hatchback then collided with three other vehicles. The man was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious head injuries.

Investigation
A crime scene was declared. NSW Police have launched a full investigation into the crash and circumstances surrounding the pursuit. A report is expected to be prepared for the Coroner.
