Police have declared a crime scene following a serious traffic crash at Park Ridge overnight, January 21.

Initial investigations indicate a man was driving a white hatchback on Rural Street around 9.30pm, before the vehicle has hit a pedestrian and then crashed into a garage and subsequently hit another parked vehicle inside.

A fire has then started, and the two cars were engulfed in flames.

The driver of the hatchback has left the scene before emergency crews arrived.

A 28-year-old Park Ridge man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries.

Investigations are ongoing into the incident and anyone with information or dashcam vision is urged to contact police.
