Incident Overview
Police allege a JAC T9 utility was being driven dangerously before it lost control and collided with a Toyota Camry at an intersection in Caboolture on 16 May. The utility allegedly fled the scene before being intercepted a short time later in nearby Elimbah.

  • Injuries:
    • 53-year-old man, Toyota occupant, transported to Caboolture Hospital with injuries.
    • 18-year-old man, Toyota occupant, transported to Caboolture Hospital with injuries.
    • 65-year-old woman, Toyota driver, not physically injured.

Emergency Response

  • Police were notified a short time after the crash and conducted patrols in the area.
  • Two injured Toyota occupants were transported to Caboolture Hospital.

Police Investigation
Police allege the JAC utility was intercepted at Morris Road, Elimbah about 10:10pm and the 19-year-old driver taken into custody. Police further allege the man returned a breath alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.114 and that the vehicle was seized.

  • Notice to appear issued for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and mid-range drink driving.
  • Due to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on 28 May 2026.

Community Impact
The crash resulted in injuries to two people and prompted police patrols in Caboolture and nearby Elimbah as officers worked to locate the alleged fleeing vehicle.
